A reef about 2 km north-west of Wilkes on the Budd Coast. Discovered by the U S Navy Antarctic Expedition (1956-57). Named by USACAN after seaman J. Gibney, U S N, a member of a party from USS Glacier which made a survey of Newcomb Bay in February, 1957.
