Narrative

An "S" shaped rocky outcrop in snow about one third of the way up the slope to the L√łken Moraines near Casey and measuring about 150 m by 50 m. A 1.5 m steel pole was established at the station mark at the centre of a rock cairn. A trig station NM/S/251 was established there in July 1978. The survey station was established with the support of Rod Parsons on the highest rock outcrop in the area. Rod Parsons made a significant contribution to the success of the survey work during the 1978 Glaciological Spring Traverse. Rod wintered as Radio Operator at Casey during 1978.
