This name originates from United States of America. It is part of the United States Gazetteer and the SCAR Composite Gazetteer of Antarctica.
Rock point forming the SE extremity of Herring Island, in the Windmill Islands. First mapped from air photos taken by USN Op Hjp and Operation Windmill in 1947 and 1948. Named by the US-ACAN for Steven D. Bone, meteorologist and member of the Wilkes Station party of 1962.
